This course introduces the concepts, theories, and fundamentals of database management systems (DBMSs) and provides practical, hands-on experience with databases and data mining. Key topics include database design, relational models, normalisation, structured query language (SQL), and data mining techniques. The module also delves into advanced subjects such as query processing and optimisation, as well as data mining of data streams and text data.
